“He allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.”
-Gabriel García Márquez
There is a consistent question that ebbs and flows into our minds at certain points of our lives. It is a defining question in which the answer has enough impact to make or break us. “Who am I?” Our human race has been plagued by this all consuming question for generation after generation. This photographic exploration of identity is meant to elucidate the journey of finding out who we are.
By using self portraiture I explore my own journey of trying to find my place in this world. The conclusion is not always how we imagine it will turn out, but sometimes it can lead you to a path unforeseen and can guide you home. Until of course, your next moment of obscure self evaluation, for the world always changes and so do we.
